TESTIMONIALS

Helping People Like You

I was very pleased with the way the attorneys at The Gori Law Firm handled our court case. They took the time to go over everything with me and made me very comfortable throughout the entire process.

My husband, Al, especially enjoyed reading the “100 Questions & Answers” book the law firm provided to help him better understand his diagnosis. They were also really great about accommodating our transportation needs and, in the end, we got to know everyone really well to the point we felt like family. I can’t say enough about how great our experience was and how diligent they were in pushing our case forward.

My husband, Shawn, passed very shortly after we began contact with you, on August 22, 2016. I cannot express what a tremendous loss it was to our family and friends. It was practically effortless to provide you with notarizations, signatures, etc. and we began to receive payments from you as soon as December of 2016. During this time of mourning we never had to worry over finances.

I truly do not know how all of this would have worked out without your assistance and will not hesitate to provide information about The Gori Law Firm to anyone who asks. God bless and I shall forever be grateful for the work you do.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma, commonly known as asbestos cancer, is a rare form of cancer that is the result of exposure to asbestos, a fibrous material that was used in thousands of products until the 1980s. THE ONLY KNOWN CAUSE OF MESOTHELIOMA IS EXPOSURE TO ASBESTOS. Mesothelioma typically develops in the lungs or abdomen. There are over 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma diagnosed in the United States each year. Due to the rare nature of the disease, it is important to find a law firm that has experience handling these complex cases.

What is the cause of Mesothelioma?

Simply put, asbestos causes Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer where tumors form in the lining of the lungs (pleura), abdomen (peritoneum), or heart (pericardium). Cancer tumors like mesothelioma tend to form when cell DNA is damaged. This is the same DNA that makes up our genes and is passed from our parents. It also gives instructions to the cell on what to do. More specifically, how to grow, divide into new cells, and then die. When the DNA in cells is damaged, cells are unable to live out their normal processes. The potential outcome being that cells divide rapidly and without the direction to go through cell death. This process can eventually cause cancer.

What is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a fibrous, durable, heat-resistant mineral that was widely used in every branch of the military throughout the 20th century. In the early 1980s, researchers finally confirmed inhaling or ingesting these tiny microscopic fibers causes mesothelioma. If you served in the military, you were likely exposed to asbestos and may have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma.

How are People Exposed to Asbestos?

Asbestos was initially known for its sturdy properties. Its resistance to fire, electricity, and chemical corrosion made it a staple in many construction projects and materials. The toxin is still being found in work areas, military sites, homes, and industrial items today.
